Growing in Personal Prayer: Close communication with
our Father...
"Is any of you in trouble? He should pray. Is any
one happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick?
He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil
in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the
sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be
forgiven."
James 5:13-15
Sometimes we can find it difficult to find the time to pray.
Developing our prayer life is difficult because the enemy does not want us to
have close communication with our Father. Here are some ways we can
increase our prayer life.
-
Make prayer a daily habit. Learn about different
prayer models, develop a prayer plan, and commit time to pray for a
particular situation or pray for others from prayer cards.
-
Talk with your small group about prayer. Have Jill
and Dale come and share about prayer at your group.
-
Set aside time to pray together as a family and pray
individually for your family. Maybe someone in your family has a
situation or concern that needs focused prayer to see a breakthrough.
You can commit an evening to pray for that situation.
-
Come to RHVC community prayer events that are held
throughout the year.
