Palm Sunday (Justin Law)
On this Palm Sunday, one of our Pastors, Justin Law, reminded us of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and how Jesus defied everyone’s expectations of what the Messiah should be. Justin also talked about how Jesus still defied expectations today, how we may struggle with our own expectations, and how we are turn to God to help us with our expectations.

The Fifth Sunday of Lent (Scott Oakman)
What gets re-constructed from a time of deconstruction? On Sunday, April 3, one of our Lay Pastors, Scott Oakman, explored what it looks like after we go through deconstruction and how we can experience restoration and love from God during this process. Scott also explored how God has something new and a purpose for us.

The Fourth Sunday of Lent (Peter Benedict)
Are you a rule follower or a rule breaker? On Sunday, one of our Pastors, Peter Benedict, shared the story of The Prodigal Son and shared how the rule breaker and the rule follower were both missing out on the love that the father had for them. As this is a parallel of God's love for us, Pete also explored how we could be missing out on God's extravagant love for us if we break all the rules or follow all the rules.

The Third Sunday of Lent (Don Weber)
What is your favorite thing about your community? Could God be using those in your community to draw you into a deeper relationship with Him? On Sunday, one of our Lay Pastors, Don Weber, read through Psalm 63:1-8 and encouraged us to connect with our communities. Through those connections, we can start to see the power and glory of God, just as David found in writing this Psalm.

As we enter into the season of Lent, one of our Pastors, Peter Benedict, lead us through Luke 4:1-13 and the temptation of Jesus. As we go through this passage, we can see that God is with us, even in temptations. Peter also shared how the Bible and worship can help us through temptations.

Last Sunday After Epiphany (Jeff Conner)
What veils do you have over your eyes? How has Jesus come to remove those veils? On Sunday, one of our Pastors, Jeff Conner, continued our Lectionary Sermon Series by showing us how and why a veil was set up between God and His people in Old Testament times. Jeff then went on to show us how Jesus came and removed that veil, giving us freedom and direct access to a relationship with God.

What can the story of Joseph show us about knowing God? One of our Lay Pastors, Cortney Heerwald, shared the story of Joseph from Genesis with us and showed us how knowing God can transform our thinking and our world. With that, we are also able to change how we approach difficulties in our lives and evil in the world.

Are you feeling like a shrub or a lush tree planted by a river? One of our Pastors, Jeff Conner, read from Jeremiah 17:5-8 and compared the differences between a cursed life and a blessed life. He also showed us what can lead to a cursed life and what can lead us into a blessed life.

What draws you to Jesus? What is God calling you to do that may seem impractical to you? One of our Pastors, Peter Benedict, had us reflect on these questions as he read from Luke 5:1-11. In this passage, he showed how Jesus attracted people and how what Jesus may call us to do may seem backward, but is actually the best way to go.

One of our Founding Pastors, Jon Marsden, shared a passage from Luke that introduces us to who Jesus is. This passage shares the only story from Jesus’ childhood. From this passage, we start to learn who Jesus is and how we are called to come to know him better and lives our lives as he did.
