From the beginning of the Vineyard movement John Wimber and his co-laborers produced new worship songs. This traditions continues today in the Vineyard family of churches, but is notunique to Vineyard alone—new life in Christ leads to an outpouring of new praise. It was true of the restoration with Martin Luther’s hymns, with the Wesley brothers in the Methodist movement, with William and Catherine Booth and the Salvation Army, and others. Join us this Summer as we celebrate the church’s rich history of praise through a monthly hymn sing. We’ll sing “old” favorites like A Mighty Fortress is our God, Blessed Assurance, It is Well, and more. We’ll look at these hymns through new eyes as we discuss the history behind them and the God-driven revivals they represent. Weather permitting, we’ll meet around the fire pit. Please bring a dessert or snack to share.
